Resin Tanex is a macroporous Type I Strong Base Anion Exchange Resin Purolite® Tanex is a proprietary blend of special and patented anion exchange resins used for removal of tannins in water used primarily for potable applications. The organic fraction is typically bound up with colloidal particles of silica, iron or aluminum in a stable complex that is difficult to remove by standard ion exchange only. On exhaustion, regeneration with 10% brine solution at a dosage of approximately 128 g/l or 8 lbs/ft3 is usually sufficient to restore operating capacity. In smaller less demanding applications, it may be practical to simply top-dress an existing water softener as this eliminates extra equipment and allows use of the same brine solution to regenerate all resins. The range includes over 10 products which offer variations in their chemical nature, physical structure (pore volume, pore size, surface area), and particle size range etc. PuroSorbPAD600 is a macroporous, non ionic, polymeric adsorbent designed to remove hydrophobic organic compounds from aqueous solutions and polar solvents. This product offers slightly larger pores than the PAD550 at the expense of a slightly lower surface area while still maintaining a good porosity. This is achieved by its crosslinked polystyrenic structure. The spherical beads offer low pressure drop at normal operating flow rates. Typical applications include the uptake / separation of medium to large molecular weight organic compounds from process streams or waste applications in aqueous and non aqueous applications. PuroSorb PAD600 is a more general adsorbent for use in different purification and separation stages within the chemical, food, pharmaceutical and biochemical industries. Regeneration can be by a single or combination of regenerants and range from steam and hot gases to dilute acid or alkali solutions, aqueous/alcoholic mixtures to pure solvents. Alkalies and dilute oxidants may help in controlling organic fouling. Application :• Due to its unique pore distribution this product can offer higher capacity and outstanding kinetic performance across a wide range of applications and operating conditions. It is ideally suited to the removal of the medium to large non polar molecular weight material from polar solvents and can also work in less polar solvents. Description :• The operating temperature may be limited by the boiling point of the solvent at the operating pressure in the system. Otherwise, applications at temperatures in excess of 100°C (212°F) are possible. Swelling data is also available for other solvents, together with pressure drop and backwash data and other information related to the use of this product in both laboratory testing and full scale plants, including pretreatment recommendations for food / pharma applications.
